If your led display would be installed in tropical area with rain and hot sun in the same day, for example the Caribbean countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela), and the Southeast Asia countries (Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), or other countries with the similar climate environment, the key factor need to consider is actually not the waterproof because IP67 in front and IP55 in rear side of the led display would satisfy the requirement. The heat dissipation is surely one of the key factors that need to consider well. As for this point, we have mentioned in the last knowledge page.
What's more, since the rain and hot weather exist at the same time, the result would be the high humidity. And this would require us to consider much on the anti-corrosion of the led display. But unfortunately, this crucial point is easily ignored by most led display suppliers who produce all same products for global. It's incorrect at all.
To achieve the good anti-corrosion feature, the following design of the led display would be necessary:
First, Paint the Conformal coating on both sides of the PCB together with all the components, to avoid the moisture, rust and corrosion.
Second, all the screws, plugs and other metal parts should be stainless.
Third, we recommend aluminum cabinet for the project. Comparing with the iron(steel) cabinet, aluminum cabinet would better on anti-corrosion.
As well, if your led display would be installed in ocean area, the same factor of anti-corrosion should be considered as well.
And please notice: to make the led display resist the harsh environment, we need to consider systematically the whole design of the led display. Here we only take some examples to share with you. If you'd like to learn more, please do not hesitate to contact us.
